Welcome to Charleston, Missouri.
Located at the top of Missouri’s “bootheel” and at the top of the Mississippi Delta, Charleston is a community of 5,900 residents. The town is a combination of life-long residents and newcomers, business owners and farmers, retirees and young people. It is a community filled with history and pride that welcomes new residents, new ideas and new ways of doing things.
Beautiful historic homes and businesses, tree-lined streets, manicured lawns, and a town full of nice, friendly people. It just doesn’t get much better than Charleston.
Situated on I-57, just a few miles from I-55 and I-24 and halfway between St. Louis and Memphis, Charleston is easy to get to and easy to like once you are here.
Farming is the major industry in the area. The land around Charleston is some of the most productive in the country for growing soybeans, corn, and other crops. The town is surrounded by thousands of acres of prime farm land, but the area is also filled with small businesses, manufacturing firms, healthcare facilities, and financial services.
Charleston is just 45 minutes from both Cape Girardeau, MO and Paducah, KY, where major hospitals are located along with many shops and restaurants. We are just a two hour drive from St. Louis where Charleston residents frequently attend sporting and entertainment events.
In Charleston, we have the best of both worlds – the serenity of small town living combined with convenient access to larger metropolitan areas.
