  • Day 3 Seeds is preparing a new (yet old) event for Charleston residents and visitors. You are encouraged to mark your calendar.  Join the fun!
  • Watermelon was once a very important crop to this town, and the entire Mississippi County. Even a Watermelon Festival was held back in 1936.  Gospel Music has been and remains  special to the people of this area.  We love them both very much!
  • Come Join the Fun, prepared to Enjoy Watermelons and Gospel Music!

A Kids Parade will kick off the weekend on Friday evening at 6pm. Great Foods will be available both Friday and Saturday.  Music, Skits, and Presentations will be held, under the ‘Big Tent’ both days.  Activities and special treats and activity tents will be around the property for all to enjoy.  Even a Watermelon ‘Taste Test’ of over a dozen varieties will be held, comparing some quite old varieties to some new ones.  Plus! - good ol’fashioned Watermelon ‘seed spitten’, slice eatin’, and melon rollin’ games for kids (of all ages) to participate in on Saturday morning.  Lots of laughs and photo-ops, building memories for all of us.   And, Saturday afternoon all are invited to enjoy Gospel Music groups and Praise Teams…  to wrap up a very special weekend.

You can purchase family packet of 25 tickets, for use at the activity stations, AND many activities are FREE.  Each purchase of a family packet of tickets will receive a coupon for a WATERMELON to take home…  all for $25.

Meals for Friday evening and Saturday noon are planned, and we encourage advance purchase of tickets, at $15/plate, that we are prepared to serve adequately.  Friday meal is a ‘Fish Fry’, and Saturday’s noon meal is ‘BBQ and Ribs’.  Both meals will include choices of baked beans, slaw, desserts, and a drink.  There will be other food available …  smoothies, burgers and dogs, sno-cones, stuffed jalapenos, and of course – watermelon.

We would encourage all to bring their own favorite lawn chairs… to sit under a shade tree, or under the Big Tent… comfortably.
